Summary of
Responsibilities:
This Field Service Technician Assistant position provides hands-on learning and teaching of the Field Service Technician processes and procedures.
The Trainee will learn in a step by step process the following aspects of the Field Service Technician function:
Installation, commissioning, maintenance, trouble shooting, training, inspections, repairs, and rebuilds of installed equipment.
Train customers and fellow employees on general maintenance and operation of the equipment Service and maintain mining and quarrying material handling equipment above ground and underground.
Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues when dealing with applications, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
Identify tools and methods needed to construct and assemble components Evaluate equipment performance and implement necessary modifications Assemble structures made of steel Job requires welding, torching, rigging, use of large hand tools, etc.
Uses and maintains equipment responsibly as to not compromise safety Comfortable with customer and third-party teamwork to assemble equipment Accurately read and/or decipher schematics, drawings, blueprints, technical manuals, and literature Personal tools are a requirement Accurately and thoroughly document time, repairs, and parts used or needed on daily service reports.
Extensive travel either self or in team setting with overnight and possible weekend stays Extended hours as needed to fulfill workload requirements Adhere to MSHA safety guidelines, policies, and procedures while working on MSHA regulated sites Ensure safety of self and others This position is a physical job demanding long hours of standing, walking, bending, stretching, reaching, some twisting, kneeling, and utilizing feet/legs to operate foot controls.
This position requires continued lifting up to 55 pounds and occasionally heavier lifting up to 100 pounds.
Ongoing and repetitive use of arms/hands/fingers such as fine manipulation, grasping, wrist turns, pushing, pulling, utilizing hand tools, remote controls, levers, etc.
Personal Protective Equipment must be worn.
Required Education/Experience/Training:
Highschool Education, or equivalent Vocational training in some or most of the following areas helpful, but will train:
Maintenance or mechanical Welding/fabrication/torching Hydraulics Diagnostics Electrical Millwright Read and interpret documents, such as blueprints, drawings, plans, policies, diagrams, tables, DWG related prints, etc.
Knowledge of materials and a strong understanding of metals and equipment Must be organized and have good communication Must have mathematical and numeric knowledge/skills related to the measuring and estimating of weights, heights, calculating numbers, solving spatial problems Must have good dexterity Position requires a back ground check and D&A screen.
Pay range will be based on experience of candidate.
